Dutch parks draw tens of thousands to summer music festivals

The Groeneveld park near Baarn transformed into the Wonderfeel festival, a three‑day outdoor event that focuses on classical music and world sounds. Organisers expect about 9,000 visitors and roughly 350 musicians, with attendees describing it as “the only outdoor festival with classical music – truly unique.”

In The Hague, the Zuiderpark will host six large‑scale festivals and concerts over nine days, each drawing up to 20,000 guests. Acts include The Opposites, Alanis Morissette, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce and others. Organisers acknowledge the impact on nearby residents, saying “Wij snappen als geen ander dat dit veel impact heeft voor omwonenden,” and are urging visitors to use public transport and bicycles. Cleanup and parking plans have been arranged to minimise disruption.
