Dutch towns host free family cultural events on July 4
On Saturday 4 July, Oosterhout’s Arendshof shopping centre will host KrielKip, a free youth edition of the Kunst in Park programme. Children from age 7 can join workshops in drawing, painting, clay modelling and dance under the theme “Feel free”, guided by artists from H19 and the Stichting Vonck. The artworks created will be displayed later in the mall and at the Kunst in Park festival on 30 August.
That same day, the Galecop neighbourhood in Nieuwegein will hold a vibrant wijk‑feest on its shopping and neighbourhood squares. The free programme includes live music from DJs and local dance groups, a Verhalentent and Verhalenkamer for storytelling, a puzzle hunt with a prize of one minute of free shopping at Jumbo, and interactive workshops such as djembé drumming and colour‑friendship sessions. Organisers have gathered sponsors and community groups to provide food stalls, information booths and activities for all ages.
