Dylan Dog celebrates 40 years with theatrical debut and national events

The iconic Italian horror comic Dylan Dog is celebrating its 40th anniversary, marking four decades since the debut of ‘L’alba dei morti viventi’ in September 1986. Created by Tiziano Sclavi and published by Sergio Bonelli Editore, the series has become a cultural phenomenon known for blending horror, noir, and fantasy.

To commemorate the milestone, the character will make its theatrical debut with the ‘Dylan Dog Horror Show’ at Rome’s Teatro Eliseo, starting October 28, 2026. Directed by Valter Malosti, the production is described as an immersive experience that integrates theater, music, and visual arts. The theater's foyer will be transformed into an experiential space dedicated to the character's narrative universe.

Additional celebrations include the ‘Dylan Dog Horror Night,’ an event spanning 80 locations across Italy, including bookstores and comic shops. A special celebratory volume titled ‘Prima che sia l’alba,’ featuring an untold story by Barbara Baraldi and illustrated by Davide Furnò, has also been released to mark the occasion.
