Greece's Public Employment Service launches new job programs and workshops

The Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA) is launching several initiatives to support job seekers and promote regional employment. In October, the agency will host 103 group counseling workshops. These sessions, consisting of 81 in-person workshops at 55 Employment Promotion Centers and 22 online sessions, cover topics such as CV creation, interview preparation, business planning, and the use of Artificial Intelligence in job searching.

A new pilot program aims to subsidize 1,000 remote work positions, specifically targeting residents of mountainous and island regions to encourage decentralization. The subsidy will cover 90% of salaries and social security contributions for a 12-month period. Additionally, DYPA is implementing programs for 30,000 unemployed individuals over the age of 30 and 10,000 positions specifically for women, including mothers of children up to 15 years old.

Furthermore, a new application period is open for vocational apprenticeship positions at DYPA's Professional Schools (EPAS) for the 2026-2027 school year. These programs offer paid training, social security, and potential housing and meal allowances for eligible participants aged 15 to 29.
