DYPA announces parental leave benefits and new employment initiatives

The Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA) is implementing various measures to support workers and job seekers. Regarding parental leave, eligible employees in both the public and private sectors can receive a tax-free monthly allowance of approximately 758 euros. To qualify, workers must have completed at least twelve months of continuous employment with the same employer, and the child must be under eight years of age. The application process is digital, requiring an agreement between the employee and employer followed by electronic submissions through the ‘ERGANI’ system and DYPA.

Additionally, DYPA is preparing for a significant presence at the Thessaloniki International Fair. The agency's director, Gianna Hormova, outlined a plan to connect the unemployed with the labor market through technical training, social policy, and housing programs. Services offered include career counseling, CV writing workshops, and Career Days, which serve as a direct link between businesses seeking staff and job candidates. These initiatives aim to create a comprehensive pathway from vocational training to active employment.
