DYPA expands employment program with 8,000 new positions for unemployed aged 55+

The Greek Manpower Employment Organization (DYPA) has expanded its employment program for unemployed individuals aged 55 and older by adding 8,000 new positions. This expansion brings the program's total target to 43,000 positions. The roles consist of full-time employment within municipalities, regional authorities, and other public sector entities.

The program targets individuals aged 55 to 67, as well as those aged 67 to 74 who have not yet met the insurance requirements for pension rights. Employment lasts for 12 months with a possible 12-month extension. DYPA subsidizes the employing entity for 75% of the salary and insurance costs, up to 750 euros per month per worker.

At the local level, the Municipality of Trifylia has increased its specific request to 13 positions under this program following a decision by its Municipal Committee. The municipality has also adjusted the required specialties, replacing two driver positions with general workers for the Technical Services and Civil Protection Directorate.
