Dyson expands hair styling lineup with new Airsmooth brush
Dyson has expanded its hair styling lineup with the launch of the Airsmooth, a dedicated hot-air blow-dry brush. Positioned as a more affordable alternative to the premium Airwrap system, the Airsmooth retails for approximately $250, compared to the $650 to $800 range for Airwrap models.
The Airsmooth features a teardrop-shaped design intended to grip hair evenly, lift roots, and smooth strands. While it is engineered for all hair types, it is specifically marketed toward users with wavy, curly, or coiled hair textures. Unlike the multi-functional Airwrap, which utilizes various attachments for curling and drying, the Airsmooth is a single-function tool designed for sleek blowouts.
In contrast, the Dyson Airwrap i. d. remains a high-end, multi-purpose system that uses the Coanda effect to style hair via airflow rather than extreme heat. The Airwrap is noted for its versatility in switching between curls, smoothing, and drying, making it a more comprehensive but expensive option for regular users.
