Dyson launches CameraJet AI-powered smart toothbrush

Dyson has officially entered the oral care market with the launch of the CameraJet, an AI-powered smart toothbrush designed to combine brushing, flossing, and mouthwashing in a single device. The product features a 100,000-pixel macro camera that captures 28 images per second, allowing users to view their teeth in real-time via the MyDyson app.

Utilizing a proprietary Gap Optical Targeting system, the device uses machine learning to identify interdental spaces. Once a gap is detected, the brush automatically triggers a conical jet of mouthwash or elixir within approximately 100 milliseconds. To ensure camera clarity, Dyson recommends using SLS-free toothpastes to prevent excessive foaming.

The CameraJet is priced at approximately $499 USD (or £419.99 in the UK) and is available in finishes such as Ultra Blue and Ceramic Pink. While the technology aims to assist those who struggle with regular flossing, some dental professionals and consumers have expressed skepticism regarding its high price point and practical utility in removing biofilm.
