Düzce inaugurates mental health centers and announces healthcare campus plans
Düzce has inaugurated two new mental health facilities in the Arapçiftliği neighborhood following a 65 million lira investment. The new centers include a Community Mental Health Center and a Multidisciplinary Child and Youth Mental Health Center (ÇÖZGEM).
During the opening ceremony, Düzce Mayor Dr. Faruk Özlü announced long-term plans to establish two distinct healthcare campuses in the city. The first campus, located in the south, will involve expanding the current state hospital to reach a capacity of 1,000 beds and upgrading its status to a Training and Research Hospital.
The second campus is planned for the Çakırlar region in the north, covering approximately 400 acres. This northern campus is intended to house the Düzce University Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital, which are currently slated for relocation to the new site.
