Healthcare development in Düzce

Healthcare infrastructure and medical research in Düzce are expanding through new facilities and specialized care models. The city recently inaugurated two mental health centers in the Arapçiftliği neighborhood following a 65 million lira investment, including a Community Mental Health Center and a Multidisciplinary Child and Youth Mental Health Center. Long-term municipal plans include establishing two healthcare campuses: a southern campus to expand the state hospital into a 1,000-bed Training and Research Hospital, and a northern campus in the Çakırlar region to house the Düzce University Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital.

Complementing these infrastructure developments, Düzce University’s Child Diabetes Application and Research Center is implementing a community-based care model for approximately 1,000 pediatric patients. This model utilizes advanced technologies such as glucose sensors and insulin infusion pumps to provide proactive, 24/7 support. Following official approval from the Council of Higher Education, the center aims to integrate clinical experience with academic research to establish international excellence in pediatric endocrinology.
