Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna integrates mObywatel for digital identity verification

Starting August 17, passengers of the Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna (ŁKA) will be able to verify their identity and eligibility for discounts directly through a mobile application. By integrating tickets purchased via the KOLEO platform with the government’s mObywatel app, travelers can confirm their identity and student discounts—such as the 51 percent reduction—without needing to present physical ID cards or student credentials during inspections.

This digital solution aims to streamline the boarding process and reduce the time required for ticket inspections. The integration requires a one-time authentication process, after which subsequent purchases through KOLEO will be faster. Additionally, the ticket and necessary data will remain accessible offline. In 2025, ŁKA recorded nearly 4.9 million online ticket purchases, with nearly half of those being student discounted tickets.
