Łódzkie region offers free psychological counselling to residents and students

The Marshal's Office of the Łódzkie province has launched a comprehensive mental‑health programme that provides free psychological support to all residents of the region. Adults can receive up to six one‑hour therapy sessions, while children and teenagers (ages 11‑17) can attend workshops that teach emotional awareness and coping skills. The initiative is funded with more than 300,000 zł for adult services, nearly 200,000 zł for youth workshops, and an additional 196,000 zł for counselling aimed at younger people.

A parallel component targets university students up to 25 years old. The student programme offers unlimited, no‑referral consultations – in‑person, by phone or online – until November 2026. It is backed by a 250,000 zł budget and delivered by seven selected foundations and medical centres. Both parts of the scheme aim to reduce stress, anxiety and depression among the population, with Marshal Joanna Skrzydlewska emphasising that seeking help is a sign of maturity, not weakness.
