e-EFKA expands digital services to 135 electronic options

e-EFKA is accelerating its digital transformation to modernize social security services in Greece. The agency aims to increase its electronic services from 80 in 2023 to 135 by 2026. This initiative is designed to reduce bureaucracy, minimize the need for physical visits to branches, and speed up the processing of daily matters for citizens, retirees, self-employed individuals, farmers, and employers.

A central component of this plan is the development of a new Integrated Information System (IIS), which facilitates the unified management of social security data by integrating more than 70 databases from former insurance funds. The digital platform allows users to access insurance history, issue certificates, submit retirement applications, and manage insurance contributions.

As of October 2026, a new subsystem for inquiries, reports, and complaints was added to the platform. This allows citizens to submit general or specific queries and reports digitally without needing to send electronic messages to different services or appear in person. Recent data shows that the agency's electronic services recorded over 183.4 million entries in 2026.
