EA Sports FC 26 releases free 'The World’s Game' update with legends and 53 national teams
Electronic Arts has rolled out a free update for EA Sports FC 26 called “The World’s Game”. The upgrade arrives ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and adds football legends Diego Maradona and Pelé to the game at no extra cost for existing owners.
The update also expands the game’s international content, offering 53 officially licensed national squads—including 41 of the teams set to compete in the 2026 tournament—along with new stadiums such as Gillette Stadium, BMO Field and the newly created Central Maw. A brand‑new tournament mode lets players compete in a three‑stage competition featuring 48 national teams, progressing from group phases to knockout rounds. The content is available in both the console/PC version of EA Sports FC 26 and the mobile edition, though the update avoids explicit World Cup branding because EA does not hold the tournament’s official rights.
