EA Sports FC 27 faces criticism over inaccurate kit details

Players of EA Sports FC 27 have identified frequent inaccuracies in the game’s officially licensed football kits, including dull color shades, missing trim elements, and incorrect patterns. For example, the Liverpool 26/27 home kit appears in a muted, dark-red tone rather than its signature vibrant red, and the Sheffield United kit features a burgundy shade more similar to other clubs.

According to former Adidas designer Marcus Dilley, these discrepancies occur because developers must model and texture hundreds of kits months before they are officially unveiled. Consequently, developers often work with 2D-CAD files and digital tech packs rather than finished physical products, which fail to accurately reflect real-world materials and lighting conditions.

In response to these visual flaws, modder RODE has developed a mod package for the PC version of the game. The modification aims to correct colors, patterns, and trims for various prominent clubs and includes authentic fonts, crests, and visual assets for unlicensed teams.
