EA Sports FC 27 launch details and PEGI 16 rating shift

Electronic Arts is preparing for the global launch of EA Sports FC 27 on September 25, 2026. The new title introduces several features, including ‘The Grounds’, an open-world mode, and updated Career Mode mechanics. Players can access the game early through the Ultimate Edition or via a 10-hour trial for EA Play subscribers.

Management tools such as the Web App and Companion App are being released mid-September to allow players to manage their Ultimate Team rosters and participate in the transfer market before the full launch. In Brazil, Red Bull has launched a promotional campaign involving 12 million cans that provide exclusive digital content, such as player loan cards and cosmetic kits.

A significant shift in the game’s classification has occurred, as the title moves from a PEGI 3 to a PEGI 16 rating. This change is driven by concerns regarding in-game mechanics like loot boxes, which regulators in the European Union suggest can serve as a bridge to online gambling. While the PEGI 16 rating serves as an informational guide for parents, it does not legally prohibit sales to minors.
