EA Sports FC 27, the fourth installment in the franchise following the split from FIFA, is set for a global release on September 25, 2026. The new title introduces several structural updates, including the social mode ‘The Grounds’ and the return of the Mexican Liga MX.

Gameplay improvements focus on refined physics, more precise short passing, and a shift toward manual defensive control to reduce reliance on artificial intelligence. Players can choose between a ‘Competitive’ mode for high speed or an ‘Authentic’ mode designed for a slower, more tactical pace.

Technical comparisons across platforms show performance variations: the PlayStation 5 version supports 4K at 60 fps, while the Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 4 versions run at 1080p and 30 fps. The ‘The Grounds’ mode is exclusive to current-generation hardware, such as PS5 and Switch 2, and is unavailable on older consoles like the PS4 or Xbox One.
