Eagle Hills signs major urban and tourism development deal in Syria

Syria has signed a framework agreement with the UAE-based real estate developer Eagle Hills to launch major urban and tourism developments in Damascus and Latakia. The agreement, signed in the presence of Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, marks a significant step in the country's post-war reconstruction efforts.

The deal includes two flagship projects: the Damascus Hills real estate development and the Latakia Tourism project. The Damascus Hills project is expected to span 10 million square meters and will feature over 26,000 residential apartments, 3,000 villas, and 4,000 hotel units. This development is projected to generate approximately $25 billion in economic activity.

The Latakia Tourism project will cover 4.3 million square meters along the Syrian coast, including a waterfront, resorts, and a yacht marina. Officials estimate these developments could create more than 40,000 direct and indirect jobs. The initiative comes as Syria seeks to address a housing deficit that could exceed 2 million units by 2030.
