Apple releases new AirPods and AirTag models amid retail discounts
Apple has expanded its audio and tracking lineup with the release of the AirPods 5, AirPods Pro 3, and AirTag 2. The AirPods 5 feature an open-ear design with the H2 chip and improved active noise cancellation (ANC), while the AirPods Pro 3 offer advanced acoustic architecture, a heart rate sensor for fitness tracking, and improved IP57 water and dust resistance.
Retailers including Amazon and MediaMarkt are offering early discounts on these new models. The AirPods 5 are available for approximately 129 euros, and the AirPods Pro 3 have seen price reductions to around 199-215 euros. Additionally, the new AirTag 2 has reached an all-time low price of $23 on Amazon.
In a regulatory development, the US FDA has approved software-based hearing aid functionality for certain consumer electronics, including the AirPods Pro 2, allowing them to be used as over-the-counter hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss.
