Earth4All survey reveals global demand for economic reform and declining trust in government

A new Earth4All survey conducted by Ipsos across 17 of the world’s largest economies reveals a global consensus regarding economic unfairness and a significant decline in trust toward governments.

According to the report, 70% of respondents believe economic inequality in their country has gone too far, and 65% feel the economic system is rigged to benefit the rich and powerful. While 69% of citizens desire major changes to the economic system, only 31% believe their government will make decisions that benefit the majority of people in the long term. This represents a drop from 39% in 2024.

The findings also highlight increasing social fragmentation. Two-thirds of respondents report that their countries are more divided than they were a decade ago. Reported tensions exist between political party supporters, high and low-income earners, immigrants and native-born citizens, and those with differing views on climate change.
