Earth's magnetic activity forecast for October 19–25, 2026
Geomagnetic activity is expected to fluctuate throughout the week of October 19–25, 2026. According to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Meteoagent, the Earth's magnetic field will experience periods of increased intensity driven by solar activity, such as high-speed solar wind from coronal holes.
During the week, the Kp-index is projected to reach levels of 4 on several days, including October 19, 20, 22, and 23. While these levels indicate elevated geomagnetic activity, NOAA does not forecast a G1-category geomagnetic storm or higher for October 22, predicting instead that the Kp index will fluctuate between 1.67 and 3.67. The highest intensity for October 22 is expected between 06:00 and 09:00 Bulgarian time.
Experts note that while significant geomagnetic storms are not expected, the fluctuations may affect individuals sensitive to weather changes or those with cardiovascular conditions. Forecasts remain subject to change based on ongoing solar flares and solar wind speeds.
