East Java authorities provide aid to landslide and flood victims

Government officials and the Ministry of Social Affairs are providing relief to communities affected by landslides and flooding in East Java. In Lumajang, Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa visited the families of Imron Rosadi and his daughter, Hilya, who died after being buried by landslide debris in Tamanayu Village. The provincial government provided financial compensation and construction materials, including cement, bricks, tiles, and timber, to assist with home renovations.

In Trenggalek, the Ministry of Social Affairs distributed logistical aid to residents in Munjungan District following heavy rains that caused the Kali Tengah river to overflow and triggered landslides across five villages. While 38 houses sustained varying degrees of damage, no casualties or injuries were reported in the Trenggalek incidents. Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated that the ministry is coordinating with local governments to ensure aid is distributed effectively to meet the basic needs of the affected populations.
