East Java gas stations face Pertalite queues due to consumption shifts
Long queues for Pertalite fuel have been reported at several gas stations in Sidoarjo, East Java, over recent weeks. The congestion typically peaks during morning and evening commuting hours.
Pertamina Patra Niaga has clarified that the queues are not caused by supply disruptions or quota reductions. Ahad Rahaedi, Area Manager for the East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara region, stated that fuel supplies remain normal and that the company has not adjusted quotas.
The company attributes the queues to a shift in consumer behavior, where drivers are moving from non-subsidized fuel to subsidized Pertalite. Pertamina is currently adjusting fuel distribution to meet these changing local demands.
