East Java police arrest coffee shop staff and hunt couple over recent motorcycle thefts

Two coffee‑shop employees in the village of Blawirejo, Lamongan, were arrested by Polsek Kedungpring two days after stealing a Honda CB motorcycle that a 19‑year‑old student had left at the shop. The suspects, identified as MAY, 15, from Kecamatan Deket, and FAP, 18, from Kecamatan Sukodadi, are accused of causing a loss of about Rp14 million.

In the neighbouring regency of Gresik, police are hunting a man‑woman pair suspected of a series of motorbike thefts at multiple locations, including a Honda Vario parked outside a minimarket in Desa Kedungrukem. CCTV footage captured the theft, and victims reported that the bikes were locked but vanished. "Motor saya sudah saya kunci, kaget tiba‑tiba tidak ada di tempat parkir," said one victim. Police chief Arya Widjaya said the suspects’ identities have been obtained and urged the public to report any suspicious individuals.
