East Los Angeles AutoZone targeted by mob in two burglaries within 24 hours
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is searching for multiple suspects following two coordinated burglaries at an AutoZone in East Los Angeles within a 24-hour period. The first incident occurred around 2:22 a.m. on August 8, when a group allegedly smashed the store's glass doors and entered the premises. A second raid took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. on August 9.
Authorities described the incidents as “coordinated, mob-like” burglaries that occurred alongside street takeover events near the intersection of Olympic and Atlantic boulevards. During the second break-in, a crowd of more than 100 vehicles was reported in the area.
Total losses are estimated at at least $50,000 in merchandise, along with the theft of three cash registers. Law enforcement has released images of 16 suspects, including 11 males and five females, in an effort to identify those involved. Detectives had previously sought help identifying 11 suspects from the initial burglary before expanding the search.
