East Texas Weekend Events Feature Bike Rally, Aquatic Center Opening

Over the weekend of July 18, East Texas hosts a series of community events. The 42nd annual Tour de Paris bicycle rally in Paris, Texas draws over 1,700 cyclists on routes ranging from 14 to 80 miles. Black Beauty Ranch in Murchison offers guided tours of its 600‑plus animals.

Winona’s Stillwater RV Resort will hold a Christmas‑in‑July market with about 200 vendors. Longview celebrates the opening of the Stamper Park Family Aquatic Center, a 76,155‑gallon pool with water slides and play zones. Canton hosts a Kids Splash Day with water slides and fire‑hydrant sprayers. Flint Baptist Church runs a Car and Truck Show featuring more than 100 vehicles.

The weekend coincides with the FIFA World Cup final in New Jersey, prompting local watch parties. Texas tax‑free weekend for back‑to‑school purchases is scheduled for Aug 7‑9.
