Čebrať Tunnel nears opening following highway construction

The Hubová – Ivachnová highway section, including the Čebrať Tunnel, is nearing its official opening. Motorists will be able to use the approximately 15-kilometer stretch starting October 5.

Prior to the official opening, the National Highway Company (NDS) will host an open house event at the Čebrať Tunnel on Saturday, October 3, from 11:00 to 15:00. The event aims to allow the public to view the tunnel infrastructure and will include presentations of construction machinery and a traffic playground. Due to high expected interest, organizers have provided specific instructions regarding parking on the new highway section, where vehicles will be parked diagonally and directed by NDS staff.

Construction of this section began in 2013. The project faced delays and route changes due to land subsidence issues. In the final days before the opening, crews are completing traffic signage, cleaning the roadway and drainage, and finalizing connections to the existing road network.
