Ecatepec to paint 3,000 homes in Sierra de Guadalupe

The government of Ecatepec has announced a project to paint the facades of more than 3,000 homes in the Sierra de Guadalupe region, specifically within the San Andrés de la Cañada area. The initiative aims to transform the urban image of a zone historically characterized as dangerous and poorly lit.

Mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss inaugurated the renovation of Acacias Street in the Buenavista neighborhood as a pilot for the program. The project included painting the street and its concrete stairs with bright colors and motivational phrases, alongside the installation of lighting to create a ‘Safe Path’.

Zuri Cruz Reyes, deputy director of Special Projects for the Public Works Directorate, noted that the initial phase of the project involves the 3,000 homes to combat long-standing stigmatization and urban neglect in the region.
