Echeverría students visit memory sites to honor historical events

Secondary school students participating in the COPRET program recently took part in guided tours as part of the ‘Echeverría Construye Memoria’ initiative. The program aims to educate younger generations about the events that occurred in the district during the last civic-military dictatorship.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of ‘La Noche de los Lápices’, students visited several local memory sites. These included the site of the Monte Grande massacre in Luis Guillón, the Plaza de la Memoria, the 1st Police Station in Monte Grande, and the former clandestine detention center known as ‘La 205’. The tour concluded at the Hogar Escuela Evita in 9 de Abril.

COPRET, an organ of the General Directorate of Culture and Education of the Buenos Aires province, facilitates these educational strategies to strengthen technical professional education and memory promotion.
