Economic activity in Entre Ríos declines as social survey receives funding
The Economic and Social Research Institute (IIES) of the Entre Ríos Business Council (CEER) reported a 2% year-on-year decline in the province's economic activity for June 2026, continuing a downward trend from late 2025. While the agro-industrial complex saw growth in rice, soy, and wheat milling, and poultry and pork slaughtering increased, bovine slaughter fell by 7% due to reduced livestock stocks. Additionally, vehicle registrations dropped by 21%.
In Bahía Blanca, the Sustainable Social Inclusion Survey project, led by the Institute of Economic and Social Research (IIESS, CONICET-UNS), has been selected for funding through the provincial Government's Social Sciences and Humanities Innovation Fund (FONICS). The 10 million peso grant, with the Municipality of Bahía Blanca acting as the adopting institution, aims to strengthen the survey's infrastructure, update sampling designs, and revise questionnaires to better support future public policy development.
