Enschede and De Lutte see major fires and accidents

Emergency services in the Netherlands responded to several incidents on August 12. In Enschede, a large fire broke out at a commercial building housing an automotive and postal company on Binnenhaven. The fire caused significant damage to the property and required specialized foam-extinguishing vehicles and hazardous materials advisors to bring it under control.

In De Lutte, a vehicle was completely destroyed by fire at a parking area near the De Poppe border crossing. Both Dutch and German fire departments attended the scene, alongside the police and Royal Marechaussee. One person was detained in the vicinity during the operation, though it is unclear if the arrest is related to the vehicle fire.

Additionally, a collision between a moped and a car in Dalfsen led to temporary road closures on Dommelerdijk due to significant damage to both vehicles.
