Ecopetrol audit reviews companies linked to Ricardo Roa's former staff

A forensic audit by Ecopetrol is reviewing business activities linked to María Andrea Vargas Gómez, who served as Chief of Staff for the company’s former president, Ricardo Roa. The investigation focuses on two companies: Sintiendo Huellas, a veterinary clinic founded in 2019 by the Vargas Gómez sisters, and Oslo y Gales SAS, established in late 2024.

Investigators have noted that both companies share the same address in northern Bogotá. Testimonies suggest the second floor of the Sintiendo Huellas premises may have been used for emergency meetings involving Ecopetrol executives and vice presidents, though this claim has been denied by Santiago Vargas Ramos, the father of the clinic's founders.

Financial records for Sintiendo Huellas show significant changes; in 2021, the clinic reported 813 million pesos in revenue and 21 employees, but by the end of 2024, it reported zero revenue and liabilities. Additionally, the investigation is looking into Santiago Vargas Ramos, owner of Negocios Varvill, who reportedly made contributions of approximately 1.5 billion pesos to the Colombia Humana party between 2022 and 2023.
