Oaxaca highway triple homicide triggers forensic investigation
The Fiscalía General del Estado de Oaxaca opened a qualified homicide investigation after three men were found dead on the highway linking Santa Catarina Jiquila and Yolotepec. The bodies were discovered at kilometer 13+200 in the area known as “El Portillo”, near the community of Santa María Amialtepec. The victims remain unidentified and showed injuries caused by a short‑bladed weapon. A white SEAT Ibiza was also located at the scene.
A multidisciplinary team comprising specialists from the Institute of Forensic Services, the Agency of State Investigations (AEI) and the Regional Vice‑Prosecutor’s Office is conducting the inquiry, applying scientific protocols to identify the perpetrators and determine motive.
