On 30 July 2026 investigators located the same three bodies on the “El Portillo” stretch of the highway (km 13+200) near Santa María Amialtepec, confirming they were tied with metal handcuffs and suffered injuries from a short‑blunt weapon. The FGEO reaffirmed the case as a qualified homicide with advantage, deploying additional forensic analysis. No arrests have been reported yet. These linked incidents illustrate a pattern of violent, unidentified homicides across multiple Mexican regions and the coordinated, multidisciplinary response of state authorities.
