Ecuador CNE approves 467 electoral domicile changes
The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador has approved 467 changes to electoral domiciles following field verification and validation. These changes are intended for the upcoming elections for mayor and council members in the Borbón canton of Esmeraldas, as well as for members of the Miss Ecuador Rural Parish Junta in the Shushufindi canton of Sucumbíos.
The decision was reached during a session involving CNE President José Cabrera, Vice President Esthela Acero, and counselors Elena Nájera, Enrique Pita, and José Merino. The approval followed a technical report from the National Technical Coordination of Electoral Processes and the National Directorate of Electoral Registry, which confirmed that the 467 requested changes met all field validation requirements.
Additionally, the council decided to uphold the rejection of eight other domicile change requests for these jurisdictions.
