Ecuador delivers 1,000 insulin doses to rural Manabí dispensaries

The Ecuadorian government, through the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS), has delivered 1,000 doses of insulin to rural dispensaries in the Manabí province. The distribution included 500 doses at the ‘El Cady’ dispensary in Portoviejo and 500 doses at the ‘El Higuerón’ dispensary in Rocafuerte.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure the availability of essential medication for rural agricultural workers. To date, a total of 2,587 doses have been distributed across the provinces of Manabí, Santa Elena, Los Ríos, and Guayas. Bernardo Cordovez, president of the IESS Board of Directors, stated that the government is committed to preventing future shortages of the medication in these rural areas.
