Ecuador President Noboa announces fuel price reduction
President Daniel Noboa has announced a reduction of 0.04 USD per gallon in the prices of Extra gasoline, Ecopaís gasoline, and diesel in Ecuador. The new rates are scheduled to take effect on October 12, 2026.
Following the adjustment, the price for Extra and Ecopaís gasoline will decrease from approximately 3.21 USD to 3.17 USD per gallon. Diesel will drop from roughly 3.15 USD to 3.11 USD per gallon. This measure follows a series of monthly downward adjustments implemented throughout 2026.
The administration stated that the decision aims to alleviate the economic impact on Ecuadorian households and the productive sector amidst a complex international energy market characterized by fluctuations in oil prices and fuel supply. Noboa emphasized that the government is acting to support the economy and citizens in the face of global energy tensions.
