During the city’s founding‑day celebrations on 24 July 2026, Noboa posted photographs sharing a traditional encebollado with Viteri, fellow ADN precandidate Niels Olsen, and other local politicians. In an interview with Radio Centro, he described Viteri as “a good candidate” who is in touch with citizens’ needs and praised her poll standings, while criticizing the municipal administration for security shortcomings and alleged power‑brokering in water, waste and infrastructure services.

The endorsement follows ADN’s decision to replace former Assembly President Niels Olsen with Viteri for the Guayaquil mayoral ticket, prompting Olsen to run for the neighboring Samborondón mayoralty.
