Ecuador President Daniel Noboa creates six interinstitutional cabinets

On 16 July 2026 Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa signed Executive Decree 449 establishing six permanent interinstitutional cabinets. The new bodies cover Social affairs, Security, Economic Productive matters, Infrastructure and Energy, Public Banking, and Revenue. Each cabinet will be chaired by the Secretary General of the Administration, Planning and Cabinet and will include the senior officials of the relevant ministries.

The reform aims to strengthen coordination among ministries, prioritize strategic projects, monitor the implementation of public policies and accelerate the execution of government programs across the listed sectors.
