Ecuador President Daniel Noboa launches power substation upgrade and farm aid in Chimborazo

President Daniel Noboa visited Chimborazo province to oversee two major government initiatives. In Guano canton, he inspected the Balsayán Electric Substation, which is 75% complete and funded with US$3.5 million. The upgrade will raise the system’s capacity to 10‑12 MVA, with the option to expand to 20 MVA, and is expected to improve electricity reliability for about 250,000 residents and support local industry.

During the same trip, Noboa highlighted agricultural support measures, delivering farming machinery and announcing new irrigation projects for rural communities. He stressed that strengthening the agro‑sector is a priority for food security and economic growth, aiming to boost productivity and incomes for families in the Guano area.
