Ecuadorian firefighters hold community commemorations

Firefighters in Ecuador are participating in various commemorative activities to mark Ecuadorian Firefighters Day on October 10.

In Latacunga, the Firefighters Corps organized a series of events including hospital visits, family integration activities at La Laguna nautical park, and a planned fire services fair. The program includes a thanksgiving mass and a torchlight parade through the southern streets of the city, concluding with a civic ceremony to recognize personnel for their years of service. Officials noted that the department has responded to 112 traffic accidents so far this year.

In Guayaquil, the Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos held its traditional ‘Water Exercise’ on 9 de Octubre Avenue. The event, which involves 900 firefighters, features demonstrations using water and foam for the public. Historically, this activity served as training for personnel to manage the city's water supply and firefighting infrastructure.
