Ecuadorian regional leaders resign to pursue electoral bids

Ecuadorian political leaders are stepping down from regional roles to pursue upcoming electoral processes. Roberta Zambrano has assumed the presidency of the Consortium of Autonomous Provincial Governments of Ecuador (Congope) following the resignation of Clemente Bravo. Bravo vacated the position to focus on his political activities and participation in future elections.

In a separate development, Juan Cristóbal Lloret has officially resigned from his position as Prefect of Azuay. Lloret submitted his resignation in Cuenca to run as a candidate for the Mayoralty of Cuenca in the 2027 sectional elections, supported by an alliance between the Socialist Party of Ecuador (PSE), Renovación, and Centro Democrático.

These leadership changes occur as various regional authorities in Ecuador prepare for upcoming political contests.
