Ecuador's Electoral Council Rejects Impugnations and Updates Election Map

On 25 July 2026 the Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) of Ecuador denied all challenges filed against members of the provincial electoral boards of Los Ríos and Loja. The council ratified the appointments of Cecilia Enríquez Herrera, Inés Estupiñán and Patricio Aguirre, along with Juan Briones and Víctor Torres in Los Ríos, and confirmed Mary Isabel Montesinos, Christopher Jiménez, Sandra Rodríguez and Carla Berrú in Loja. A separate request concerning former Manabí board member Kléver Cevallos was also dismissed.

In the same session the CNE approved an update to the territorial electoral organization for the 2027 elections, adding the new rural parish Mis Ecuador in Shushufindi and the new canton Borbón in Esmeraldas province.
