Ed Sheeran cancels Gillette Stadium concerts due to weather

Ed Sheeran has canceled his upcoming weekend concerts at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, due to severe weather forecasts. The decision, made by tour management and public safety officials, aims to ensure the safety of the audience and staff. Ticket holders can receive refunds, with Ticketmaster providing automatic compensation for those who purchased through the platform.

The cancellations occur amidst significant controversy surrounding Sheeran’s Loop Tour. Rapper Macklemore was recently removed from the tour following pro-Palestinian statements made during performances in New Jersey. Following his departure, several other supporting acts, including Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and the Irish group Beoga, also withdrew from the tour in solidarity.

During a performance at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Sheeran addressed the emotional toll of the situation, telling a crowd of 50,000 that he feels friends and family are distancing themselves from him. He noted that the recent weeks have been among the most difficult of his life, citing both professional pressure to cancel the tour and personal tension involving family members.
