Ed Sheeran Loop Tour disruptions

Overview

Ed Sheeran’s “Loop Tour” has faced several disruptions across different regions. In September 2026, the second of two scheduled concerts in Mexico City was canceled by promoter MusicVibe due to anticipated mobility and traffic challenges related to the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Ticket holders were relocated to the previous night’s performance or offered refunds.

Later in the month, scheduled performances at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, were canceled due to a severe nor’easter storm. Stadium management, tour promoters, and local officials cited the need to prioritize the safety of fans, staff, and crew in response to heavy rain and high wind warnings. Ticketmaster users are set to receive automatic refunds for these canceled dates.

These cancellations followed significant controversy regarding the tour’s lineup, specifically the removal of opening act Macklemore following his “Free Palestine” declarations. The removal, reportedly influenced by stadium owner Robert Kraft, led to several other supporting artists withdrawing from the tour in solidarity, including Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and the Irish group Beoga. Macklemore alleged that Kraft pressured the tour to drop him, an accusation Kraft addressed by citing the rapper’s history of rhetoric. Sheeran has since stated that the decision to drop Macklemore was made by the tour promoter rather than himself, adding that he wishes his music to focus on “unity rather than politics.”

During a performance at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Sheeran addressed the emotional toll of the controversy, telling a crowd of 50,000 that he feels friends and family are distancing themselves from him. He described the recent weeks as being among the “most difficult of his life,” citing both professional pressure and personal tension.
