Edelsfeld and Beckingen Celebrate Local Service with Honors

The municipality of Edelsfeld held a citizen assembly where Mayor Roland Lutz reported a steady population, a merger of local fire brigades and ongoing construction projects. The meeting also included a farewell ceremony for former Mayor Hans‑Jürgen Strehl, who was honored by Lutz and council member Andreas Kredler.

In Beckingen, Mayor Thomas Collmann presented the town’s Ehrenmedaille to longtime cultural activist Edi Ehlenz. Collmann highlighted Ehlenz’s three‑decade involvement with the local Kultur‑ und Heimatverein, his former role as Ortsvorsteher, and his initiative in establishing a partnership with the French “Fort aux Fresques” association. The award ceremony was attended by local officials, members of the heritage club, and delegations from partner towns in France and Luxembourg.
