Edelweiss Air expands international routes and aircraft capacity
Edelweiss Air is significantly expanding its flight offerings and capacity across several international destinations. The airline has launched an inaugural service from Zurich to Seattle, utilizing an Airbus A340 aircraft.
In addition to the new Seattle route, the carrier is increasing frequency and capacity to various holiday destinations. This includes more frequent flights to the Maldives, additional direct flights to Cape Town starting December 14, and expanded capacity to Mauritius. To meet high demand during the autumn and holiday seasons, Edelweiss is deploying larger aircraft, such as the Airbus A350, on routes to the Mediterranean, including Gran Canaria, Crete, and Mallorca.
The airline is also responding to travel trends in Northern Europe by increasing flight frequency to Finnish Lapland, specifically targeting Kittilä and Rovaniemi during the winter sports season.
