Eden Park to host Warriors v Knights NRL elimination final

The NRL has confirmed that the NZ Warriors will host their elimination final against the Newcastle Knights at Eden Park on Sunday, September 20. While the Warriors typically play at Mt Smart Stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 26,000, the move to Eden Park allows for a significantly larger crowd of up to 50,000 spectators.

This marks the first time the Warriors have hosted an NRL final at Eden Park. The decision follows the Warriors' recent 26-16 loss to the Dolphins. The Newcastle Knights advance to this stage after an upset victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The Warriors face significant injury concerns heading into the match. Coach Andrew Webster confirmed that strike centre Leka Halasima is set to miss the clash due to a hamstring injury sustained during a warm-up. Additionally, prop Jackson Ford, who was returning from a 12-week pectoral tear, limped off with an ankle complaint during the recent match against the Dolphins.
