Eder Sarabia to debut as RCD Espanyol manager against Deportivo

Eder Sarabia is set to make his official debut as the manager of RCD Espanyol in an upcoming match against Deportivo. The appointment follows a period of significant instability for the club, which saw poor results under previous coach Manolo González, including only four victories in thirty-one matches during 2026 and an early Copa del Rey exit against Sestao River.

Sarabia, who previously managed Elche, will be forced to observe his first match from the stands due to a remaining one-match suspension carried over from his time at Elche. He is expected to return to the technical area on November 20 during the fixture against Athletic Club. The club aims to use Sarabia's leadership to restore competitive morale and tactical identity following their recent struggles in LaLiga.
