Edgardo Henriquez nears return for Dodgers ahead of NLDS

The Los Angeles Dodgers are nearing the return of relief pitcher Edgardo Henriquez for the National League Division Series (NLDS). Henriquez, who had been sidelined with a low-grade back strain, has progressed to facing hitters in live batting practice sessions.

Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes stated that Henriquez is ‘trending really well’ and is expected to be included on the postseason roster if his recovery continues without setback. Manager Dave Roberts noted that Henriquez’s return could have a ‘huge impact’ on the team, citing his unique skill set and the benefit of the team’s wild-card round bye, which provided additional healing time.

Henriquez had a breakout 2026 season, recording a 2.85 ERA and 71 strikeouts over 60 innings. The Dodgers are preparing to face either the Atlanta Braves or the Philadelphia Phillies in the upcoming series.
